Masterplan
The plateau of flat open space in the north west of
the site must be retained as open space to maximize
the opportunity for pedestrian connection and views.
Dwellings and streets around it will be positioned on
the same level.
These elevated views will be reinforced with a raised
pavement along the Western edge of the link road.
The steep slopes to the East of the link road will
have stepping terraces down the slope to enable the
maximum number of dwellings to achieve oblique
views of the escarpment. The lowest part of the site adjacent to the existing stream will be used as an attenuation feature. The location of the open spaces
relates to the pedestrian routes, topography and
views. Green routes will be an integral part of the landscape
strategy, linking the public open spaces and the
pedestrian network. The masterplan has been designed to encourage
pedestrian and cycle movement through the site,
creating a series of linked open spaces with an
emphasis on the pedestrian over the car.
Development should reflect the desire lines outlined
by the masterplan, which link into existing routes
improving the connectivity for both new and existing
residents reducing dependency on the private car.

The Lanes: Landscaping along the lanes soften the entrance to the residential streets and slow traffic by creating division in shared surface.
The entrance to The Park from the plateau in the north sets an important tone for the development. Views back up from the lowest should directed through a cluster of trees towards the entrance to The Green.
The Square: Defining the entrance to the formal parking square these trees provide visual triggers to the routes through the development and connect into habitat routes
